SAN ANGELO, TX -- In 2017, Congress designated October 28 as National First Responders Day to honor firefighters, police officers, EMTs.
In celebration of the day, the Texas Department of Public Safety shared the following message on social media:
"Today is National First Responders Day. We hope you’ll join DPS as we salute our Troopers, along with our fellow first responders across the state and around the nation. These men and women devote their lives and work tirelessly to protect the public and keep our communities safe."
"To all of our First Responders: Thank you for always answering the call. We are grateful for your service, today and always."
Thus on this day, take a moment to honor and thank all those who dedicate their lives to a lifetime of service to their communities.
