SAN ANGELO, TX -- Tom Green County officially surpassed more than 300 new cases of Covid-19 this week on Saturday.
According to the San Angelo Health Department 52 new cases have been confirmed. Once again, nearly all cases belong to patients over the age of 20.
More than 80 percent of the cases belong to Tom Green County residents.
There are currently 423 active cases, but the number of hospitalizations has dropped to 32. The total case count has reached 4,600.
The cases were confirmed using 14 PCR tests and 38 antigen tests.
Two deaths were also confirmed on Saturday. The patients were identified as a female in her 80s from Coke County and a make in his 70s from San Saba County.
This brings the total death count to 86: 55 from Tom Green County and 31 from other counties.
