SAN ANGELO, TX – A cold front is blowing through the Concho Valley Friday dropping temperatures and could bring the first freeze of the season early next week.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day Friday as a cold front brings north winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting to 30 mph at times. Temperatures will drop to 52 degrees by 2 p.m.
This is a mostly dry cold front so little rain is expected in the Concho Valley Friday.
Temperatures will rebound over the weekend with Saturday's highs in the lower 70s with calm winds.
Saturday night will be mild with temperatures in the low 50s and south winds at 5 to 10 mph and by Sunday, afternoon highs will be back in the upper 80s with south winds at 5 to 10 mph.
Cold weather will return Monday with north winds at 10 to 20 mph and gusty with rain chances increasing to 50 percent by Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures Monday night could drop to the freezing mark at 32 degrees so take care of pets, plants, and pipes.
