SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo is forecasting an increase in the threat of wildfires today across the Concho Valley with the passage of a cold front.
According to the NWS, elevated fire weather conditions are expected across much of West Central Texas this afternoon, due to a combination of breezy north winds and relative humidity values dropping to 15-25 percent.
The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies through mid morning Monday, then gradual clearing, with a high near 76. Windy, with a north wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Tonight should be clear, with a low around 44 with north wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
There is no rain in the forecast for the next seven days.
