SAN ANGELO, TX -- Even as the FTC voices its opposition to the merger between Shannon Medical Center and San Angelo Community Medical Center, the plan continues full steam ahead as Shannon debuts a new website dedicated to the acquisition.
"Our community is special, and we all want to see it thrive -- not just today, or five years from today, but for generations to come," reads the welcome message on careforsanangelo.com.
The site also features a FAQ section that aims to answer the community's questions and concerns about the vision Shannon has for the future of health care in San Angelo.
One major concern for patients is the ability to keep their doctor and according to Shannon, they will.
"Patients will have access to their current doctor and an even broader number of providers and specialists. Patients can receive care at either facility or from any providers in our combined network."
Additionally, community members can stay informed by signing up for email updates as the transition takes place.
The website also features video messaged from CEO Shane Plymell and Managing Trustee Len Mertz.
