Man on Probation for Child Sexual Assault in Two Counties Jailed

A 28-year-old man that was sentenced to 10 years probation in two cases of sexually assaulting female teenagers in Irion and Tom Green counties has been put back in jail for violating the terms of his probation here.

Joseph Michael Gore, a moderate level sex offender who’s listed addresses in multiple counties over the years, pled guilty to sexual assault of a child in Tom Green County on Feb. 2, 2014 for the physical assault of a 16-year-old girl that occurred in September 2009. He was sentenced to 10 years probation.

At the same time, Gore pled guilty to an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge out of Irion County that involved a 13-year-old girl, and was also sentenced to 10 years probation. Those terms were ruled to run concurrently.

After several violations to the terms of his probation, including failure to pay fines, use of marijuana on three different occasions, failure to check in with supervision officers, and failure to report a change of address, Gore was picked up by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office Monday and booked into the county jail.

He is currently being held against a $20k surety bond.

According to court documents, District Attorney Allison Palmer filed a motion to revoke Gore’s probation on Sept. 26, and a warrant for his arrest was sent out on Oct. 2.

Gore could face a full 10-year sentence if his probation is revoked. His pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 5.

Sexual assault of a child is a second-degree felony punishable by 2-20 years confinement and an optional $10k fine. Aggravated sexual assault of a child is a first-degree felony punishable by 5-99 years and an optional $10k fine.

Gore has a long history of stays in the Tom Green County Jail that dates back to 2005 with criminal trespass and covers everything from assault to drugs to interfering with a 911 call.

Time to start getting rid of the judges and/or prosecutors that let scum like this roam free. Probation indeed.
Soooo...they wouldn't put him away for abusing children but they might put him away for abusing his probation. I guess the legalities are more important to the courts than the victims... Makes me sick when the courts won't enforce the law
Attention, people! Elections are coming up. There are some judges and JPs up for election, and now might be a good time to insist that these officials eliminate bond. Every time a criminal gets out (whether he's awaiting trial or not) and violates parole, I just want to scream. There should be NO probation for child predators, drunk drivers, or sexual offenders. Obviously, a half-wit who can't conform to simple parole rules has no business running around on the streets to offend again.
This person seems like he has ties of being connected to law enforcement oh yeah its probably because he is white
