ASU to Host Second Round of Free Testing After Labor Day

SAN ANGELO, TX — In the days before classes resumed at Angelo State, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Texas Military Department hosted free COVID-19 testing for students and personnel.

According to the testing conducted between August 10-14, a total of 658 individuals were tested. Of that group, 631 were denoted as negative and 17 as positive.

The university also reported 10 undetermined cases – which means that the test could not detect a clear positive or negative result. This is often due to a problem with a sample or a technical issue.

According to ASU, as Friday morning the university has confirmed a total of 45 cases – 13 belonging to faculty and staff and 32 belonging to students.

There are currently 12 active cases – 9 students and 3 are faculty and staff.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management Department will return to campus from September 9-10 to tests students as they return from the Labor Day long weekend.
