IRAAN, TX — In Thursday's update by the Texas A&M Forest Service the Smith Canyon Fire in Pecos County has burned an estimated 11,348 acres, and is roughly 25% contained.

Firefighters with the Texas A&M Forest Service have been battling a large wildfire near Iraan since Tuesday afternoon.
As of Tuesday a fire in Pecos County named as the "Smith Canyon Fire" had scorched an estimated 4,000 acres, and was shown to be 0% contained.
