Midland, TX –Chevron Corporation announced the company's donation of $300,000 to the Ector County ISD and the Midland ISD in order to further support STEM learning initiatives, and to help equip local schools for remote learning opportunities for their students.
Director of the Midland Education Foundation, Anita Gamertsfelder noted how Chevron Corp. has long been a companion in education, as well as a huge supporter of MISD for many years.
“Chevron has been a friend in education and a strong supporter of MISD for many years, and we are so grateful. We are thrilled that these funds will be used to help teachers and students with virtual classroom learning, mental health, STEM education, petroleum education, and campus support as a Partner in Education. These programs would not be possible without Chevron's generous support of public education and dedication to our community."
Celeste Potter, director of the Education Foundation of ECISD expressed the foundations gratification for Chevron noting how the funds will "provide innovative opportunities for educational learning."
“The Education Foundation is grateful for it's strong partnership with Chevron, Potter said. These funds will now allow us to provide innovative opportunities for education in Ector County ISD through support of Career & Technical Education (CTE), PICK Education initiatives, Project Lead the Way, and by bringing internet access to students in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
