Tired of Wearing a Mask? Go 30 Miles in Any Direction from San Angelo

BALLINGER, TX – Tired of wearing a mask? Well drive about 30 minutes in any direction from San Angelo and you won't have to wear a mask.

According to Runnels County Judge Barry Hilliard, on September 1, masks are no longer mandatory in Runnels County.

Runnels County is made up of Miles, Ballinger, and Winters. These cities make up a population of 10,234. As of Tuesday morning Runnels County only had 15 active cases of Coronavirus.

Judge Hilliard confirmed that this will be allowed because of Governor Abbott's Executive Order GA-29. The order exempts masks mandates in counties with less than 20 active COVID-19 cases. To read the full order click here

In Tom Green County there are 669 active cases of coronavirus as of Tuesday.

Runnels now joins other counties in the Concho Valley like Concho, Glasscock, Irion, Mason, Schleicher, and Sterling that are exempt from the mask requirement.
