Aircraft Goes Down at West Texas Airfield

 

ODESSA, TX - Authorities responded the report of a plane crash at Schlemeyer Field in Odessa Thursday morning, according to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.

Odessa Fire Rescue and Odessa Police said that just after 10 a.m. they were dispatched to the call at the Schlemeyer Airport.

Authorities claim the incident was classified as a "hard landing" which is defined as when a pilot still has some control of the aircraft, while a crash is uncontrolled.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office confirmed there were no injuries in the crash, and the fire department was called out as a precaution.
