FORT HOOD, TX – A Killeen man has been charged with the murder Thursday for killing a Fort Hood soldier that was found shot and dead miles away from his burning vehicle.
According to the Stars and Stripes, on May 18 at about 10:17 a.m., officers with the 2100 block of Fuller Lane in Harker Heights for the report of possible body that was found in a residential area.
Officers arrived and found the body of 28-year-old Pfc. Brandon Scott Rosecrans.
Minutes later the officers were called about Rosecrans’s body being found the residential area, fire officials were notified of a burning vehicle on the 2500 block of Jubilation Drive, a residential street about 4 miles from Fuller Lane.
The vehicle, an orange 2016 Jeep Renegade, belonged to Rosecrans. Further investigations revealed that Brandon Michael Olivares was with Rosecrans and allegedly shot him, left the body on the side of the road, and then burnt the car.
Olivares is charged with Murder and his bond is set at $1 million. He is currently in the Bell County Jail.
This is the fifth Fort Hood Soldier that has died in recent months.
