Coronavirus: Summer Workouts Suspended After Athlete Tests Positive

ODESSA, TX — Just days after Odessa High School began its summer strength and conditioning program, the campus suspended the workouts after an athlete tested positive for coronavirus.

According to CBS7, Ector County ISD learned about the positive case on Monday night and made the decision to cancel the program for the next 14 days.

According to officials in the athletic department, they will be reviewing the current systems to ensure the safety guidelines are sufficient.

The athlete who tested positive is now in quarantine and will need a written release from a doctor when it is okay for them to return.
