Texas Military Tests 120 for Coronavirus in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – The free drive-by testing event hosted by the Texas Military Department tested over 100 people Wednesday for COVID-19.

According to Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of San Angelo Jim Evans, on May 6, The Texas Military Department tested 120 people for Coronavirus during a drive-thru testing site at the McNease Convention Center.

These tests were administered for free and no symptoms were needed for the test. The only catch was you had to pre-register for the event.

"The testing event was a success," said Evans. "We opened the lanes up at 9 a.m. and stayed until 5:30 p.m."

The testing facility was originally only going to be open until 5 p.m. but crews stayed longer to make sure everyone who wanted tests were given one.

Test results should return in 2-7 days.
