Coronavirus: San Angelo Has Rent & Mortgage Assistance Funds

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo Community & Housing Support Division is receiving $388,646 as authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), in response to the growing effects of this public health crisis. The CDBG-CV funding is a new allocation of CDBG funds to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus outbreak.

In order to receive these funds, the City must Amend the 2019 Annual Action Plan and provide a 5-day public comment period (comments emailed to [email protected]).

The entire amount of these funds will be used to support a Rent and Mortgage Assistance (RMA) program which will provide much needed relief to low-to-moderate income households in San Angelo (whose income was impacted by the ongoing coronavirus shutdown) in an effort to prevent these households from becoming homeless.
