Coronavirus: Callahan County Confirms Second Case

 

BAIRD, TX – Callahan County confirmed its second positive case of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

According to KTXS, both confirmed cases have been classified as travel-related exposure. No additional information has been released regarding the patient.

County Judge Scott Kniffen also confirmed an employee at the Callahan County Clerk's office was exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Anyone who came in contact with that employee or the positive patient well be required to self-quarantine.

The Callahan County Clerk's office is closed and will remain closed until the exposed employee is tested for the novel coronavirus and cleared.

Callahan County citizens are encouraged to follow social distance guidelines and avoid large crowds. Judge Kniffen  also stated that even though wearing masks in public isn’t mandatory, it is "still a good idea."
