SAPD Reminds Everyone to Have a Safe and Happy 4/20

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department wished everyone a happy 4/20 by reminding them to stay safe and stay #saferathome.

The following is from the SAPD:

Today is "4/20" but in the law enforcement world it's "Dispatch, I’ll be out with a green '98 Honda Civic that’s filled with smoke and been sitting at the light for five minutes Day".

We don’t condone or support anyone participating in today's illegal activities but we ask that if you do, please refrain from driving while impaired or consuming Mary Jane in public or your vehicle (even if it’s legally parked in the roadway...someone WILL call in on you...it happens SEVERAL times a week).  Trust us, you’re #SaferAtHome.

Driving under the influence of marijuana is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol.   It’s just as illegal, too.

So please, visit the ole T-Bell or the Golden Arches now, get your chow delivered, or pick up your value-sized bag of chips beforehand so the only thing you're wrecking is a bag of Doritos.

According to Lexico powered by Oxford, April 20 or 4/20 is considered as an occasion for smoking or celebrating the smoking of marijuana. Examples for this would be "thousands of marijuana smokers converged on Hippie Hill for the annual 420 celebration" and "Happy 420!"

Well considering all this corona crap I think everyone should take a few puffs and calm the hell down.
