Governor Abbott Extends Disaster Declaration For Texas

 

AUSTIN, TX – Governor Abbott has announced his decision to extend the Disaster Declaration originally issued on March 13. The declaration will extend to all Texas counties.

"By extending my Disaster Declaration, we are ensuring the state of Texas continues to have adequate resources and capabilities to support our communities and protect public health," said Governor Abbott in a press release. "I urge all Texans to continue practicing social distancing and abide by the guidelines laid out by the CDC and my Executive Orders to slow the spread of COVID-19."

According to KTXS, the governor’s office has not announced when the extension will end. There are currently over 13,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Texas.
