Coronavirus: Mitchell County Confirms First Positive Case

 

SWEETWATER, TX – The Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department has confirmed the first case of COVID-19.

According to the Sweetwater Reporter, Mitchell County Hospital confirmed a female in her 60’s has tested positive.

The patient is currently quarantined inside her home and did not require hospitalization. The woman’s spouse decided to engage in voluntary isolation.

The health department has contacted the patient to gather information regarding her travel history and asses any contacts she may have had.

As of Monday, March 30, Nolan, Mitchell, and Fisher counties, have tested 29 individuals. They have obtained 21 negative results, 1 positive and 7 are pending.

All three counties served by the Sweetwater Nolan County Health Department.
