SAN ANGELO, TX – The franchise barbecue restaurant Dickey's Barbecue Pit has closed its doors in San Angelo.
As of Mar. 10 the tables and chairs have been taken out of the restaurant and the doors have been locked. There is a sign posted on the front door saying closed. It does not indicated whether or not the smokers will be re-ignited.
Dickeys previous number, (325) 949-4271, has been disconnected.
The franchise main website has also taken the San Angelo location off as a delivery option.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit was located at 4520 Sherwood Way for nearly 10 years.

PermalinkChain Bar-B-Que in San Angelo is a joke. I hope Bodacious goes next. Shop local! Packsaddle is the oldest AND best in town!

PermalinkWhile I would agree that Packsaddle is very good, I would also invite anyone to try RJ Bar-B-Q as well. It is consistently very good, and no more overpriced than any good barbecue.

PermalinkBodacious is owned by San Angelo residents, thus it’s “local” even though it’s a franchise. And as a side note, the Bodacious owner is a co-owner of Packsaddle along with his brother.

PermalinkB P - Tony (Mark) has not been an owner of Packsaddle for over a year now. He sold out to focus on the "franchise". Better check your facts first honey.

Permalink...I am not your honey. And excuse me if I misspoke. I was not aware that Mark was just handling Bodacious now while his brother, Mark (who started at Bodacious) was handling Packsaddle alone. However, the fact remains that the "franchise" is locally owned and isn't actually a chain (as a franchise and a chain are not exactly the same.)

PermalinkNormally I don't side with Ding Bat but in this case I agree. Dickey's was average at best and way overpriced (as is most BBQ)
