SAN ANGELO, TX – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R), Texas flew into San Angelo on the eve of the Republican Primary to drum up support for his reelection campaign Monday.
Cornyn is challenged in the GOP primary by Mark Yancey,John Anthony Castro, Dwayne Stovall, and Virgil Bierschwale.
Cornyn flew into Mathis Field Regional Airport and spoke to supporters at Packsaddle BBQ on Knickerbocker Rd.

Cornyn will face a Democratic challenger in the November general election from a crowded field of 12 including former Houston Mayor Chris Bell and Texas state Senator Royce West.
According to the latest University of Texas – Tyler/Dallas Morning News poll, Cornyn leads the GOP field with 62 percent.
Senator Cornyn made six stops across Texas Monday including the rally in San Angelo.
