Two Earthquakes Rattle Ector & Midland Counties

MIDLAND, TX - According to the United States Geological Survey two minor earthquakes shook the Ector-Midland counties over the weekend. 

Residents of the area reported feeling the ground shaking and a loud boom following the first earthquake that struck Saturday evening around 7:45 p.m. According to reports this earthquake was recorded at a depth of 3 miles below surface.  

This comes just after a handful of other earthquakes that have been recorded over the last few weeks in the Permian Basin. 

Not even 24 hours following the first earthquake, another earthquake was recorded by the USGS at 11:58 p.m on Sunday evening.

This earthquake was registered as a 3.0 magnitude and happened underneath almost the exact same area as the one from 7:45 p.m on Saturday. A photo has been attached to this story showing where these earthquakes were recorded.

At this time there have been no reports of any damages as these two quakes were considered to be minor registering as  2.3 and a 3.0 magnitude earthquakes.
