Police: 19-Year-Old Suspect Charged with Capital Murder

ABILENE, TX – Abilene Police Department officers arrested a suspect in connection to the city’s first homicide of 2020. Last Tuesday, 19-year-old Jaden Hernandez was fatally shot around 11:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Little Elm Condominiums.

According to KTXS, Javeeontae Evans, 19, is being charged with capital murder after he allegedly shot Hernandez. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene after a neighbor saw him collapse after hearing a pop.

Evans had been previously arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge in Nolan County. His bond has been set at $250,000.
