SAN ANGELO, TX – At 3:39 p.m. Monday, San Angelo Police Department officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a vehicle in west central San Angelo. The driver refused to comply and a low-speed pursuit began.

The suspect vehicle then crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Caddo and Van Buren. The driver then attempted to evade arrest on foot, but he was apprehended a short distance from the scene.
There were no injuries and the 28-year-old suspect will be charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle. According to Sgt. Bouligny, the suspect, Antonio Rodriguez Jr., had five city warrants and two county warrants.
