ABILENE, TX – A Taylor County grand jury indicted Noah Adam Byrn, 19, for online solicitation of a minor and injury to a child after he posed as a 14-year-old boy to date a 12-year-old girl.
According to KTXS, Byrn was “dating” a 12 year-old-girl after he told her grandmother he was 14 years old. The victim’s family was informed of Byrn’s age by police officers.
Authorities found out about the relationship after they responded to an altercation at Byrn’s apartment where he was having a dispute with a family member. Byrn called the police himself to report the issue.
He then told the responding officer he could go to his girlfriend’s home. When the officer arrived at the victim’s home, he realized she was 12 and informed the family that Byrn was an adult.
The victim told police that Byrn was oftentimes "controlling and jealous." She told them about an instance in which Byrn got mad because she wouldn’t let him see her Snapchat. Byrn then allegedly warned the victim about his anger and when she refused a second time to show him the account he pulled her hair, took her to the ground and slapped her face.
The victim also told police that Byrn sent her naked photos of himself and asked her to do the same, but she declined. Byrn is also accused of trying to get her to perform oral sex on him.
He's being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
