SAN ANGELO, TX -- Two people were arrested Sunday after DPS troopers found marijuana and THC in their Semi-truck.
According to the affidavit signed by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard, on November 3, a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety had a Blue Semi-truck pull into the weigh station on US 87 for a routine Commercial Motor Vehicle inspection.
When the trooper spoke with the driver, John Brown ,63, he noticed an apparent smell of marijuana in the cab of the truck.
After finishing the inspection, the trooper questioned Brown and about the smell but he denied having anything.
The affidavit states that later Brown and the passenger, Daronda Pratt, 55, admitted to having marijuana in the truck.
The truck was then searched and the trooper found more than 2 ounces but less than 4 ounces of marijuana and more than 1 but less than 4 grams of THC wax.
After the trooper read the two their rights, they admitted to using both the THC wax and the marijuana in the truck.
They were both charged with possession of marijuana 2 Oz > 4 OZ and Possession of a controlled substance PG 2.
They were released the following day in lieu of a $11,000 bond.
