Teenaged Driver Jumps his Chevy off the Houston-Harte Expressway

San Angelo police said a teenager was driving when a single vehicle crash happened early Saturday morning at around 12:15 a.m. near the 5000 bock of Houston-Harte Expressway. In it, a white Chevrolet extended cab pickup performed a “Dukes of Hazard” maneuver. After a high-speed approach, the driver jumped the truck off the Sherwood Way overpass, landing on all four wheels on the turnaround road down below. In all, the truck travelled at least 75 yards off the pavement.

Police said speed coupled with the drizzling rain were factors. “It looked like he lost control on the wet pavement, in a turn on Houston-Harte [expressway].” The police investigator said.

The driver was a juvenile and was transported to the hospital with injuries. Because of the driver’s age, no other information can be released.

Police did not indicate that alcohol was involved. The crash is under investigation.

Our neighbor's grandson did this a few years ago. Apparently it's a "thing" with the kids. He laughed and bragged about his injuries, despite nearly killing his passenger.

I've lived here all my life, that's 60 years. I know people, know the town, know stuff. I RARELY comment here, compared to you regular types. But I am unable to make ANY comment without being smartassed at by YOU, JD. Why is that, I wonder?

I started to respond to her nonsense, Jo... but I realized that she's on a whole 'nother level (and not necessarily a higher one.) The rest of us get it... that's all that matters to me.
