Bubba's 33 & Texas Roadhouse Donates $64,000 to Odessa Shooting Victims

ODESSA, TX – Nearly a month and a half after Odessa suffered an unimaginable horror with a shooter claiming seven lives and injuring dozens of others, the Odessa Community Foundation received a very special gift from Bubba’s 33 and its parent company Texas Roadhouse on Tuesday.

According to CBS7, the company donated a check for $64,801 to the foundation to help those struggling with loss. One hundred percent of the foundation’s proceeds will be given out to families affected by the mass shooting for items like medical and funeral expenses.

The donations were accumulated from the proceeds of sixty-three Bubba’s 33 and Texas Roadhouse restaurants donating all of their September 19th proceeds for this fundraiser. Restaurants across Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, and New Mexico participated in the event.

“As a company, we’re a family. And when something happens to one of our family’s community, all of us kind of ban together to support it,” said John Mark Baze, Managing partner of Texas Roadhouse in Odessa, “And that’s what this is about, coming together and supporting the community that supports one of our restaurants, our families in general.”

The Odessa Community Foundation is expected to distribute the funds to the affected families by the end of the year. They also emphasized that not everyone who was affected has signed up to receive financial help. They urge any affected community members who wish to receive assistance to contact the Odessa Chamber of Commerce at 432-332-9111.
