ABILENE, TX – Cody Edmund Dixon, 34 has been charged with two counts of capital murder after he allegedly murdered his wife and 9-month-old daughter.
The bodies of Alia Rae Hutchison, 22, and Aria Ellen Dixon, 9-months old, were found on CR 324 between Baird and Putnam.
According to KTXS, Dixon claimed God told him to kill his family. Dixon was arrested Saturday night at the Motor Inn in Baird. He was tackled by a man after he head-butted a police officer in an attempt to escape; that witness claiming Dixon said he was compelled to commit the murders by God.
Dixon was charged with two counts of capital murder, escape, assault on a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance, in addition to having two “out of county” warrants.
Dixon’s bond was set at $1.8 million.

New details have emerged regarding the brutal murders of Alia Hutchison and Aria Ellen Dixon.
According to the Callahan County Sherriff's Office, Dixon used a pocket knife to murder his wife and daughter. Dixon allegedly stabbed them after he a fight with his wife.
The baby's body was thrown over a fence and her mom was found on the side of the road.
Dixon has confessed to the murders and maintains that God told him to do it.
He was transferred from the Callahan County Jail in Baird to the Taylor County Jail in Abilene on Monday afternoon for security reasons. He will be kept in a jail cell by himself and will be on suicide watch.

PermalinkSome stats regarding our nation's inmate's religious affiliations from a few years back may put into perspective as to which fictitious boogeyman is to blame . .
For the sake of brevity, I'll just cite three religious factions.
Protestants make up just over 50% of out inmate population, Catholics come in at 14.5%, and Pagan/Satanists at a negligible 1.7%.
