SAN ANGELO, TX — Two vehicles collided late Saturday morning on the southeast side of San Angelo. One driver is in the hospital.
According to the Texas DPS, the driver of the red passenger car was headed west on U.S. 87’s access road towards San Angelo near the Loop 306 interchange. A black pickup truck was traveling south, connecting with Susan Peak Rd. south of the interchange.
The red car had a stop sign but failed to yield the right-of-way to the southbound pickup, DPS said. The two vehicles collided.
The driver of the red car was rushed to Shannon Medical Center. As that was happening, DPS issued that driver a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign. The driver of the pickup was uninjured.
The DPS, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and the Wall Volunteer Fire Department tended to the crash scene. The crash happened where U.S. 87 and Loop 306 meet just after 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The weather was partly cloudy with dry roadways.
