SAN ANGELO, TX — A 42-year-old man underwent emergency surgery last night after being shot while entering someone else's house, police said.
According to the San Angelo Police Department, on the night of August 20 officers were dispatched to Shannon ER for the report of a male shooting victim.
After investigating the incident, police say that last night before 7 p.m. the gunshot victim entered a residence on W. 20th St. and was shot by the 62-year-old man who lived there.
After emergency surgery the gunshot victim is in stable condition, police said.
Police said this remains an on-going investigation and did not reveal if police thought the 62-year-old resident acted in self-defense, if this was a home invasion or attempted burglary.
Jail logs do not reveal anyone arrested overnight bearing the resident shooter's description.
Police have not told us why the resident shot the guy who, according to the police report, just "entered the residence."

Here’s a novel idea. Go talk to the people involved in the story yourself like real reporters and get that scoop so you can let us know what happened.

PermalinkMatt,
Not has a great Idea. Go over to the 62 year olds house on West 20th and try to go in his bedroom window at 2:00am.
1. If you hear a gun shot, the police thought it was self defense and let him keep the gun.
2. If he only wounds you, you could interview the EMS personell to flesh out the story.
3. Same goes with the ER staff.
4. If you're arrested you might be able to talk with the man shot on the 20th.
