Dog and Two Turtles Abandoned; Owner Arrested

ABILENE, TX -- A 19-year-old was arrested Friday after leaving his dog in his apartment with no food or water. 

According to KTXS, on July 19 Norman Kessell, 19, was charged for a crime that he committed a few months prior. 

On November 30, 2018 Kessell left his animals alone in his apartment for multiple days without food and water. 

Animal control was notified and the they say that the apartment was destroyed and covered with dog feces. 

Police say that they found one malnourished dog as well as a two turtles. 

Kesell was charged with animal cruelty and was booked and released from the Taylor County Jail on the same day.
