Man Runs from DPS Through San Angelo at Speeds up to 100 mph

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas DPS, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies, and San Angelo police pursued a suspect traveling at speeds up to 100 mph through San Angelo Saturday night, July 20, 2019.

According to radio traffic Saturday just after 10 p.m., the suspect was westbound to the city on FM 380 in a gray 2006 Toyota Highlander. The DPS and Sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit. Once the suspect reached Loop 306, he went westbound and onto the Houston Harte Expressway then exited N. Byrant. San Angelo police pulled off once the realized the guy was driving so fast he would be out of the city limits in minutes.

DPS and sheriff’s deputies caught him near U.S. 87 north and FM 2105. That is where we caught up with the DPS and took these photos.

Aaron Skeels was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail, charged with evading arrest or detention in a vehicle, and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

DPS stated late Monday afternoon that the chase originated on U.S. 87 south near the 480 mile marker. There, a DPS trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the man sped away in a 2007 Toyota Highlander. After the lengthy chase, the driver, Skeels, gave up near the intersection of U.S. 87 north and FM 2105 north of San Angelo. He was arrested without incident, DPS said.

this is the guy that way driving in the wrong direction (wrong side of the road) on 306 who almost head on collided with me. Should be attempted murder or man slaughter.
