Abilene Police Arrest San Angelo Red Roof Inn Murder Suspect

 

ABILENE, TX — Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division Tuesday afternoon secured a warrant of arrest for 26-year-old Jessie Wayne Robinson, Jr. of Abilene, Texas for the murder of Gilbert Mascorro, a 32-year-old San Angelo resident.

Robinson was developed as a person of interest early on in the investigation that began around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019, when San Angelo Police located Mascorro’s lifeless body at the Red Roof Inn on South Bryant Boulevard — deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Robinson was arrested in Abilene, Texas this morning on unrelated charges. The homicide investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available for release at this time.
