SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested a man on Friday for selling tetrahydrocannabinol e-cigarette cartridges and money laundering.
On July 5, a Trooper with the Texas DPS noticed a 2006 Lincoln car following to close to other cars on US 87 near the 484 mile marker.
The trooper then pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as 24-year-old Michael Obrien.
According to DPS Sgt. Justin Baker, Obrien was showing signs of criminal behavior so the trooper called in the DPS K-9.
The K-9 smelled something inside the car so it was searched. The troopers found 16 E-cigarette cartridges containing THC, marijuana, and $10,000 in cash.
Obrien was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and money laundering. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail and was released the following day on a $16,000 bond.
