AUSTIN, TX -- Five Concho Valley softball players were honored by the Texas Girl's Coaches Association with All-State softball nods for the 2019 season.
Miles' Skyler Brooks was tabbed to the Class 2A All-State team by the TGCA along with Junction's Macy McAdams and Mason pitcher Jesse Armstrong. McAdams, fellow Junction senior Jordan Johnson and Ballinger's Hannah Holcomb were tabbed as Academic All-State Honors as well.
Brooks picked up the honor after hitting the cover off the ball in 2019 with a .790 average and seven home runs to her name. That earned the Ole Miss softball commit Co-District MVP honors as well.
McAdams was lethal in the leadoff role for the Lady Eagles, hitting .600 with 42 runs scored and 14 RBIs. She led the team in 11 offensive categories. Defensively, she posted a fielding percentage of .950.
Armstrong was arguably the best pitcher in the Concho Valley this year. She posted a 9-3 record with a 2.75 ERA and 109 strikeouts after missing the start of the season to the Cowgirls' run to the state basketball tournament.
Johnson was up there in the conversation with Armstrong as one of the best pitchers in the Concho Valley. The senior pitched in 20 games for Junction with an 11-7 and struck out 119 batters. In the final home game of her career, Johnson pitched a perfect game in a run-rule win over Christoval.
Holcomb was a part of the Ballinger Lady Bearcat team that challenged for the District 4-3A crown and finished second before falling in the bi-district round of playoffs.
Armstrong, Brooks, Johnson and McAdams were all selected to our All-Concho Valley softball team after the 2019 season.
