Top 5 Concho Valley Offensive Linemen to Watch in 2019

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An offense is only as good as its line and it's time to recognize the big guys battling it out in the trenches.

As we continue to prepare for the 2019 football season, we are highlighting five offensive linemen in the Concho Valley that you need to keep an eye on this year. They will likely be big influences into a team's success on the field.

Here are the top five offensive linemen to watch in the Concho Valley this season:

Kurt Klausner, Sr., 6-3, 285, Central

Klausner is a towering figure on the Bobcats’ offensive line and will be the undisputed leader on the line. They will lean on the senior’s four years of experience on the line to help two young players along this season.

At 6-3, 285, Klausner is a stout tackle. You can expect him to be an integral part in the Bobcats’ pass protection as they look to protect junior QB Malachi Brown.

You can also expect Klausner to draw plenty of interest in recruiting during his senior season.

Hunter Duggan, Sr., 6-3, 270, Winters

In a triple option offense, offensive linemen need to be quick. Duggan was quick and powerful in 2018 to help Winters to the area round of playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Duggan graded out at 96 percent with 33 knockdown blocks and 24 pancake blocks last year for the Blizzards to earn first-team All-District and All-Concho Valley honors.

He also finished fifth in shot put at the state track meet in May.

Coleton Williams, Sr., 5-11, 200, Miles

Williams will be the focal point in the trenches both ways for the Bulldogs this year. He is one of two listed linemen returning for his senior year.

After helping spring Mason Bryan for an incredible 2018 season, Williams earned All-District and All-Concho Valley honors.

With the Bulldogs returning just five starters on the offensive side of the ball, expect Williams to be their anchor offensively.

Emiliano Hernandez, Sr., 6-4, 305, Eldorado

Hernandez, known as “Big E” to all who know him, is as imposing an offensive lineman as you can find.

His towering stature and relentless play has made him tough to handle on both sides of the ball. For that, he garnered Lineman MVP honors in District 8-2A DII.

Expect him to have another big year on both sides of the ball for the Eagles.

Ethan Sanchez, Sr., 6-2, 310, Lake View

Sanchez will need to continue to plug up the line for the Chiefs as they begin to pass more.

The senior is regarded as the leader on the line by head coach Hector Guevara. He is part of a three-pronged attack on the offensive line with Logan Sanders and Cody High lining up beside him.

The trio all have 40-yard times of 5.2 seconds or below. Expect that quickness to come in handy on the line this season.
