In front of Rosa’s and Pinkies Liquor at the 4300 block of Sherwood Way, there was a five-vehicle pile-up. At the front of the line of the crashed vehicles was a maroon Toyota Corolla. Hitting the Corolla from behind was a Honda CRV. Behind the Japanese cars, in order of the crash, were a gold Chevrolet Suburban, a white Jeep Rubicon, and a grey-brown Texas Chevrolet Edition Suburban.
Traffic on Sherwood Way was backed up to Oxford Street in the westbound lanes. Only one eastbound lane was open as crash crews cleared the scene.
Update 2:30 p.m.
According to the San Angelo police, the white Jeep failed to control speed and hit the Suburban in front of it. The grey-brown Texas Edition Suburban, behind the Jeep, whose driver also failed to control speed, hit the Jeep from behind. The gold Suburban, reeling from the impact of the Jeep, rear-ended the Honda CRV, causing the Honda to collide with the rear of the maroon Toyota Corolla. There were no injuries. The driver of the white Jeep was cited for Failure to Control Speed. The crash scene was cleared at approximately 2:30 p.m. and traffic resumed normally.
