San Angelo Named 8th Hottest US City in Recent Survey

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- If you think San Angelo is hot, you're not alone according to a recent survey.

According to a survey of the 50 Hottest Cities in the United States released by the website 24/7 Wall Street, San Angelo is the eighth hottest city in the United States and the fifth hottest in Texas.

Texas had 16 cities make the list -- the most of any state -- with Del Rio ranked as the hottest in the state with 134 days over 90 degrees per year and a hottest temperature of 112 degrees. San Angelo averages 114 days over 90 degrees and a hottest temperature of 111 degrees 

Topping the list were Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.

The list pulled information from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration to rank 192 cities of 10,000 residents or more across the country based on days over 90 degrees per year, highest temperature on record, average midsummer high, and year-round high.
