WATCH: TxDOT Crews Prepare Bell St. Bridge for Demolition Work

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Texas Department of Transportation crews have closed the Bell St. bridge over Loop 306 to prepare it for demolition work. 

According to TxDOT, the bridge will be closed to traffic as preparations are made to demolish the damaged parts of the structure.

As we reported May 12, the Bell Street overpass was hit by an oversized load of windmill components that morning.

There were no injuries reported. The bridge and that the portion of the Houston Harte Expressway were closed due to the crash.

There is visible damage to the metal beam underneath bridge structure.
