DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Money Laundering Investigation

WHARTON, TX -- A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper seized approximately $785,511.00 on US-59 during a traffic stop Monday near Wharton.

Wharton is southwest of Houston.

According to the DPS Southeast Texas Region's Facebook page, the Texas Highway Patrol was assisted by DPS Special Agents with the Criminal Investigation Division and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit.
