NWS: Severe Thunderstorms Developing Again Thursday Night and Friday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Severe thunderstorms are developing this evening in the Edwards Plateau from Ft. Stockton to Junction and are forecast to develop and spread overnight. 

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, thunderstorms are expected to develop this evening mainly across the northern Edwards Plateau.

Strong to severe storms are possible, with the primary hazards being large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado.

Additional storms are possible overnight and into Friday morning generally across the southern half of West Central Texas.

Large hail, damaging winds, and flash flooding are the primary threats with these storms.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will remain in the forecast Friday afternoon through next Wednesday.

While widespread severe weather is not expected throughout this time, some storms will have the potential to produce small hail and strong wind gusts.

The forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms tonight and Friday.
