Bicyclist Hit at Knickerbocker Road and Sunset Drive

According to witnesses near the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Sunset Drive, a bicycle rider was hit by a black Chevrolet Impala at approximately 9:45 p.m. Tuesday evening. There is damage on the right side of the Impala and the passenger side of the Impala's windshield is shattered.

An ambulance left the scene with sirens and lights headed for Shannon. It appears that the car impacted with the bicyclist.

The westbound lanes are blocked on Knickerboacker Road.

San Angelo police are investigating.

Update 11:28 p.m.

The crash scene is cleared. Police did not detain anyone and did not offer a statement to the media. From external appearances, it was an unfortunate accident. We will have an update tomorrow morning.
