SAN ANGELO, TX -- Following regional quarterfinal sweeps, the no. 1-ranked Wall Hawks and Mason Punchers are on to the regional semifinals.
For the Hawks, it's their third year advancing to the fourth round while Mason is making their second consecutive appearance in regional semis.
Wall swept Alpine by scores of 19-11 and 16-4 (5). Their game one win was the first time a game had gone all seven innings.
Mason knocked off Brackettville 10-7 and 13-3 to advance in the playoffs. That set up a rematch with no. 1-ranked Dallardsville Big Sandy, who beat Mason last year.
Here are the playoff pairings for the regional semifinals
Class 3A
- Wall (33-0) vs Breckenridge (30-2): Game 1: May 24, 1:00 p.m.; Game 2: May 25, 3:30 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Abilene Christian University
Class 2A
- Mason (17-6) vs Dallardsville Big Sandy (29-3): May 23, 7:30 p.m., at Cameron
