SAN ANGELO, TX -- Starting Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Chef Jason Helfer and the Peasant Village Family of Restaurants will start the the next evolution of the Peasant Village.
Twenty-four years ago, the ‘Peasant Village Restaurant’ opened it’s doors under the leadership of Chef Jason and his father, Chef Art ‘Pops’ Helfer. The two set out a goal to serve fine dining cuisine from all over the world.
Beginning in 2007, Chef Jason expanded his involvement and began serving the city of San Angelo his popular menu of sandwiches, including the Infamous Jewish-style Reuben, the Dirty Mike and the Ladder, among others.
In 2018, Chef Jason opened a second deli, the ‘PV Deli by Chef Jason’ at 2561 Sunset Boulevard in San Angelo as the first of many planned deli locations, and a testing ground for future expansion.
This year the Peasant Village Family is proud to announce the next step, the very first location outside of the Concho Valley, located in the University Park region of Dallas, Texas. This location will feature the PV Deli menu, as well as a few new metroplex specialties.
With this expansion, Chef Jason is also making a few improvements in San Angelo, by relocating lunch strictly to the ‘PV Deli by Chef Jason on May 20. The Peasant Village Restaurant will continue to host dinner service beginning at five in the evening Tuesday through Saturday.
The Peasant Village will continue to feature a fantastic quarterly rotating menu featuring new items and revisiting entrees from the past. The bar will also feature exclusive beverage items and new specialty cocktails.
