NWS: Tornado Watch Issued for San Angelo and West Texas

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for San Angelo and the surrounding area until 11 p.m. Tuesday night. 

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK the dangerous threat of tornadoes exists from the Texa Panhandle to the Concho Valley and on down to the Mexican border. 

The main threats are tornadoes, large hail, lightening and strong winds.  

Severe thunderstorms will be possible across West Central Texas this evening into the overnight hours.

Large to very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible.

The greatest threat of very large hail will be west of a Haskell to Sonora line and the greatest damaging wind threat will be west of a Menard to Brownwood line.
