SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested a man yesterday after deputies used a fake Facebook account portraying a 16-year-old girl to catch a child predator.
On May 1, Deputies in the Criminal Investigation Division of the sheriffs' office used a Facebook account where the deputy took the persona of a 16-year-old girl.
According to the affidavit, the persona used was a child that Joshua Cox, 20, had already met and messaged on Facebook. Cox then contacted the fake account of the child and told her that he wanted to have sex with her.
He planned a meeting spot at a local elementary. On the way to the meet spot deputies say that Cox communicated in a sexually explicit manner and distributed sexually explicit material to the account.
When Cox arrived at the school he did not find a 16-year-old girl, but instead was arrested by TGSO.
Cox was charged with online solicitation of a minor and online solicitation of a minor by sexual conduct. He is currently in the Tom Green County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Permalink.....can't believe the Sheriffs Office wastes time and resources on entrapment for crap like this. Got some pretty bad hombres roaming the streets, i.e. lots of murders and property crimes, and we think we can make things better here by trying to imprison a 20 yo for wanting a 16 yo? Wow. BTW, a 16 yo 'child', hahahahaha. For things he didn't do, but things he wanted to do, lol. Gotta love the thought police.

PermalinkAnd there are 40 yo guys trolling the chat rooms and social media looking for 12 yo's. It amazes me to see these guys trying to meet these kids knowing full well that law enforcement is constantly using bait to catch pedophiles. When I was 20, I knew 16 was "jailbait". And these morons are putting it out there for everyone to see. Dumbass.....
