Gory Details Emerge About the Murder of Kristian Rose

SAN ANGELO, TX — A third man was arrested for the murder of Kristian Rose Wednesday. Rose, 26, was found dead at 3:40 a.m. in his small backyard apartment where he lived behind his mother’s home in the 600 block of E. 39th St on April 2.

The arrest affidavit of Joshua Jaquez, 21, sheds more light on how and why police believe Rose was murdered. He was arrested by the Pecos County Sheriff's Office in Iraan with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers Division, according to San Angelo Police.

The homicide investigation began when two San Angelo police patrol officers were dispatched to Rose’s apartment for a report of “shots fired.” When police arrived, they found Rose lying on the floor of his rear apartment with wounds in his head and torso. Rose was pronounced dead at the scene, the affidavit states.

Rose’s mother, Sandra Rose, must have called police. She told police she heard the loud shots in her son’s apartment that was located behind her home and went outside her house to investigate. A man wearing all black who pointed a handgun at her confronted her. She told police a second man exited her son’s apartment and the two fled toward the back alley.

When Sandra Rose went into her son’s apartment, she saw what no mother would ever want to see: He son’s lifeless body lying on the floor dead.

Kristian Rose’s body was later taken to Lubbock for autopsy. The finding was that Rose died of a gunshot wound in his lower back, on the left side.

Police gathered clues at the scene and the best lead was surveillance video of a black four-door sedan used as the getaway car. It would take weeks for police to piece together enough evidence to credibly charge three young men with Rose’s murder.

Police determined the sedan was a black 2013 Kia Optima and Brian Garcia was seen on surveillance video getting out and into the car at the Stripes Convenience Store near the coliseum the night of the murder.

Garcia, 20, along with Jacob Martinez, 18, were arrested on April 18 during a burglary at an apartment near Angelo State University. Both were later charged with the murder of Kristian Rose. The two drove to the apartment to burglarize it in a black four-door sedan, police said then.

The night of the murder, a woman named Alexis Taylor told police she was with Brian Garcia and two other Hispanic men. She told police the Kia belonged to Garcia’s girlfriend named Mariah Martinez and police confirmed she was the Kia’s owner by running the plates.

Apparently, Taylor was the driver that night until the Kia was driven closer to Kristian Rose’s apartment. That’s when Taylor told police that Garcia demanded she stop and allow Josh Jaquez to drive instead because “Jaquez knew where they were going.”

Jaquez drove the Kia to Bonham and 39th and then backed the Kia into the alleyway behind Rose’s apartment. Taylor said the men got out of the car and popped the trunk open. Taylor told police she heard Jaquez remind Martinez to “not forget the TASER” after they told Taylor they “had to do something.”

WATCH: The scene of the murder on April 4:

Garcia and Martinez walked towards Kristian Rose’s apartment, Taylor told police. A short while later, the two returned and were excited and were holding handguns. Martinez was covered in blood, Taylor said.

“What have you done?” Taylor told police she asked.

Martinez pointed a gun at her and asked if she knew anything about what had just happened. Threatened, Taylor said she told Martinez she knew nothing.

“That’s what I fu**ing thought,” Taylor remembered Martinez’s reply.

Jacob Martinez called his father the dark early morning hours following the murder, police said. A short while later, Darrell Martinez met with his son at his house. Darrell told police Jacob arrived with Brian Garcia, another young man the group called “J” and a girl. Darrell told police that “J” was feminine. They arrived driving his daughter’s black Kia and were wearing dark clothes. Jacob indicated the group didn’t want to be seen and asked if he could leave a bag.

Prior to heading out to commit the murder, police said, the group was hanging out at house on Angelo Blvd. discussing who “had the most that they could take,” according to Taylor’s witness statement.

The affidavit does not mention what was in the bag.

Three born losers, too mentally defective to conceptualize the respectability in earning a living. I can't wait for the reports of the predictable emotional meltdowns from mama and "abuelita", when their precious nickel and dime stick up kids get sent to their cages, acting as if they didn't raise this trash to be what it is today.

Give the girl the most lengthy sentence. She's the breeder who will just squat and shoot out scores more of these human cockroaches for society to raise until they're old enough to fill the shoes of these other slugs that are incarcerated.....
