First Responders Barbeque Cook-Off Recruiting Judges for Saturday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Organizers of the first annual First Responders Barbecue Cook-Off are looking for more judges for the competition Saturday.  

According to Mike Magee there are 30 to 40 teams signed up to compete in the cook-off featuring jalapeno poppers, chicken, ribs, and brisket.  

There gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday at the end of Spillway Rd. along Twin Buttes Dam and anyone who wants to participate as a judge needs to be there by 10:45 a.m.

Cooking teams will turn in jalapeno poppers by 11:00 a.m.; chicken by noon; ribs by 1:00 p.m.; and brisket by 2:00 p.m.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded in each category. 

The public in invited and encouraged to attend.
