Man's Body Found Floating in Lake Brownwood

BROWNWOOD, TX – A Brownwood man was found dead in Lake Brownwood on Wednesday.

On April 17, the Brownwood Lake Patrol received a call about a boat that had drifted away from a near by unloading dock with the truck still parked in the boat launch. When they arrived they could not find the owner of the truck, 63-year-old Gary Hipp.

Officials searched for the man before they started to drag the bottom of the lake. Hipp's body began to float. Lake Patrol Chief Troy Henderson said that Hipp was putting his boat in the water when he slipped and fell.

According to KTXS, the body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
